Montessori Educational Foundation
Of The South Bay
“Helping Montessori Children Reach for the Stars”
The Montessori Educational Foundation
of the South Bay is committed to providing financial support for educational
opportunities of the alumni of the Montessori Schools of Manhattan Beach and
Rancho Palos Verdes. In keeping with this goal, the foundation is offering
college scholarships to former students of the Montessori School of Manhattan
Beach and Rancho Palos Verdes. All former students of the schools, who attended
for at least two years, are eligible for consideration.
In determining recipients, some extra weight may be given to longer attendance,
but such attendance will not be a sole determining factor. The board of the
Montessori Educational Foundation of the South Bay or their designated Scholarship
Committee will evaluate each applicant as an individual, with a composite
of factors determining the awarding of a scholarship. No single factor, such
as high school GPA, will carry more weight than other factors, such as community
service.
If you encounter difficulties recalling dates and/or staff member’s
names, please contact the office at the Peck campus for assistance.
Please provide at least three character references. These references should
not be family members or friends. Teachers, employers, and service organization
staff make good references. Please make sure that contact information for
references is current.
In addition to the application, all applicants are to write a one page essay
delineating their goals and how the scholarship may help them reach these
goals.
Scholarship amounts will be determined by a combination of available funds
and approved recipients.
