in our fundraisers.
There are several different methods you can chose for painless fundraising.
What is Scrip?
Instead of asking people to spend additional money on items they may not want or need, Scrip enables parents to contribute to PTO activities whenever they make their normal, everyday purchases. Scrip consists of gift certificates from local and national merchants and is used in their stores just like cash. MSMB PTO earns 2-20% of every purchase made with Scrip certificates depending upon the merchant.
What Scrip is sold at the school?
We have gift certificates for over 130 local merchants. These include Macy's, Burger King, Baskin-Robbins, Blockbuster Video, Starbucks, The Coffee Bean, Corner Bakery, Chili's, KB Toys, Loew's Cineplex, Old Navy, The Gap, Office Max, Best Buy and many more. When and where do I buy Scrip?
While on-line you can fill out the on-line form
and print it. You can drop it off anytime before the deadline date. The
deadlines for the remainder of 2005 are 9/23, 10/21, 11/15 and 12/2. Place
your order form and payment in the PTO envelope in your child’s classroom
or in the main office (Peck). The order
can take up to 2 weeks after the deadline to be delivered.
Will the store give me change?
Yes.
Why should I buy Scrip?
Because it is a great way for you to contribute to the enrichment of your child's education at no extra cost.
How are the funds raised by scrip
spent?
The MSMB PTO will use the monies it raises on enrichment programs that
augment the school's current plans, special events, library books and
community building activities.
How can I participate?
Make it a habit to buy scrip regularly (for your own use and as gifts
you normally give) for the stores we stock. Contact the Scrip and eScrip
fundraising chair, Mina Arnao 310-374-8820, to help the scrip committee
with selling, delivery, accounting, marketing or photocopying. Thank You!
eScrip and over 85 merchant partners have created a system that rewards customer loyalty by contributing a percentage of purchases to our school. Whenever you shop at any of the participating merchants using the loyalty, debit or credit cards that you designate, MBMB PTO gets a percentage of the purchase. Here's how to participate.
1. Get an eScrip application from the envelope in your child’s classroom,in the main office (Peck), register online, or click here and turn in form to the PTO envelope in your child's class..
2. Register your grocery store loyalty cards (e.g. Vons) and/or any other credit or debit cards with eScrip, designating Montessori School of MB PTO (Organization ID# 396137) to receive the rebates.
3. Use your Von's card whenever you shop at Von's and/or your registered credit card(s) when you shop with other participating merchants (such as Eddie Bauer, Payless Shoe Source, Kepler's Books, Whole Foods Markets, and many more).
4. Ask your friends and family members to register their cards in support of MSMB PTO , too!
Albertsons/Sav-On Community Card
These cards can be picked up in the PTO binder in your child's classroom or in the main office (Peck) or at the Scrip Table. If you use these when you shop at Albertsons (in-store or on-line), Sav-On or Max Foods, the PTO receives a quarterly rebate of up to 5% on all purchases at no additional cost to you. Make sure to have the clerk scan the card at check-out.
SchoolCash offers online shopping at more than 250 online retailers including Land's End, Oriental Trading Company, DisneyStore.com, and more. Once you register with SchoolCash, every purchase made with a SchoolCash online merchant will earn Manhattan Beach Montessori PTO up to 20% of the total purchase price at no additional cost to you. To set this up:

Schoolpop brings together store, catalog and online merchants with parents and the community to raise money for MSMB PTO. When shopping with Schoolpop's hundreds of store, catalog, and online merchants, we earn a percentage of each supporter's purchase - at no cost to you.

WebMall ™ provides an easy way for supporters to help MSMB PTO by shopping online at over 200 NSC WebMall stores. Stores such as Target.com, Petco and LL Bean will donate from 2% to 30% with every purchase. All funds earned through NSC’s WebMall are sent to the MSMB PTO via check along with a detailed monthly earnings statement listing individual supporter contributions.
